Will Habyts monitor my kids even when they're offline?

Habyts works best when it's online. However, the rules you have defined for your family are applied even when their devices are offline -- so your kids can't get round the system by switching off their Internet connection.

Because Habyts sends its instructions via the Internet, any changes you may make via the Parent Dashboard will only take effect when your child is online.

However, f your child is using an Android device or a Windows PC, you can still grant extra screen time... even if the device is offline:

On your child's Android device:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen.
  2. Tap the blue ‘Options’ button.
  3. Select the ‘Grant Time’ option.
  4. In the dialog, indicate how much Play Time you wish to grant.
  5. Confirm with your Parent Password when prompted.

On your child's Windows PC:

  1. Click on the Habyts icon from the System Tray
  2. Select the Grant Time option.
  3. In the dialog, indicate how much Play Time you wish to grant.
  4. Confirm with your Parent Password when prompted.

Note: We'd love to enable this feature on Habyts for iOS, but Apple's technology makes it impossible (for now).
