Our Tasks feature has many uses and some of our families find it helps to give kids structure to their day, adding actions that must be completed at certain points of the day shown on your kids dashboard, helps to organize their day.
You may add Tasks that need to be completed in a specific order to encourage a routine.
Habyts automatically orders Tasks alphabetically unless they have a due time assigned. If a due time has been added then all Tasks will be ordered by the time they need to be completed.
If your Tasks don't have a time they need to be completed by, but there is an order of priority, then simply add 1,2,3 or a,b,c ordering in front of each individual Task in the text box and Habyts will order your Tasks as you have. You can add the order by selecting the pencil icon next to the Task, update and save.
For families with several children you may wish to add a 'Bonus Task' that gives the option to earn some extra points. The Task is created to be available to all kids, but you can't have the lawn cut several times in one day, so how do you make it a one time only chore?
- Just add the words (one child only) ensuring they are in brackets at the end of the Task description when you create it.
- Share the Task to all children on the account so they can view it, but once someone marks it as 'Done' via their dashboard then the Task is no longer available for their siblings to do.
